Britannia Hotels had accrued a disparate fleet of printers across the organisation. This fleet wasn't fit for purpose and unable to cope with the volumes or output. a key issues with the fleet was the inconsistency in print models, which had resulted in increased operating costs. Each device required different consumables, which tied money up in stock.
Britannia hotels needed a more cost effective, reliable and easy to manage solution which would improve productivity, increase efficiency for staff and reduce the burden placed on the IT department.
Working in partnership with Konica Minolta, a 'Discovery process was implemented to assess potential cost savings and process efficiencies. An audit was conducted of selected sites to assess print processes, waste, workflows and costs to determine requirements.
Whilst the key driver was to realise cost efficiencies, Konica Minolta's proposal also looked at ways in which the company could streamline business processes with document management solutions.
Following the implementation of the new fleet Britannia were able to:
- Cut there monthly costs by two-thirds
- Achieve greater clarity into the print habits of its employees
- Reduced the time its IT department spent on print-related queries
