As part of its ongoing fundraising initiative for charity partner Cancer Research UK, the team at Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd is proudly supporting a long‑running community football event taking place at the Milton Keynes Dons Stadium on Saturday, 30th May. The ticketed event, which will also be raising vital funds for Candlelighters – which supports children with cancer and their families – will feature a team of ‘old boys’ who have played together for decades and will reunite on the pitch for the final year of this much‑loved charity fixture.
Konica Minolta employees have organised and funded an internal raffle, with 100% of proceeds going directly to Cancer Research UK, featuring prizes donated by staff members. Employees will also attend the match to show their support and help raise awareness and encourage further donations.
This year’s event carries particular significance for many of those taking part. Several players, supporters and families connected to the teams have been personally affected by cancer, while others have lost family members and friends, making the cause especially meaningful. As Marie Woodhead, Partner Marketing Manager who has been central to the Konica Minolta involvement in the event explained, “Within the team, we've got people that have had cancer and we've got people that have lost family, through cancer as well”. Local businesses have also stepped forward with sponsorship, helping to fund team kits and additional donations. As Marie highlighted, “The outreach has been fabulous – we’ve got local sponsors as well that’ll sponsor the kits, it’s been great really”.
The Konica Minolta team’s involvement reflects the company’s commitment to supporting the communities it serves. The company’s employee‑driven charity culture has long been a defining part of its identity, with staff regularly taking part in fundraising walks, volunteering initiatives and local partnerships.
The football event will mainly raise funds for two charities that resonate strongly with customers and communities across the UK – Cancer Research UK, Konica Minolta’s official charity partner, and Candlelighters, which has also been previous a Konica Minolta charity partner.
As Gillian Nuttall, People and Culture ESG Partner at Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd noted “What makes this event so special is that the support has come entirely from our people. Our employees care deeply about supporting families affected by cancer, and their passion is what drives our charity partnership forward. We’re incredibly proud to stand alongside the local community, Cancer Research UK and Candlelighters to help raise awareness and vital funds for causes that matter to so many of our colleagues and customers.”To make a donation,
