Konica Minolta earns Gold level recognition medal in EcoVadis Sustainability ratings for 3rd straight year

Konica Minolta, Inc. (Konica Minolta) has earned a Gold Level Recognition Medal in the EcoVadis 2018 sustainability ratings issued by EcoVadis of France. Receiving the survey’s highest level of recognition for the third time in a row places Konica Minolta in the top 2% of suppliers and reflects its corporate philosophy (see below), which drives all of its day-to-day business practices.

To achieve this value, Konica Minolta has identified a number of material issues, which must be given priority: the environment, social innovation, customer satisfaction and product safety, responsible supply chain, human capital, and diversity. By addressing these issues, the company will provide solutions to social issues set forth in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and contribute to solving global environmental issues and improving quality of life.

Today’s evolving society requires companies to take on the role of delivering both social value, by providing solutions to challenges faced by our customers and our world, and economic value, which results in corporate growth, while achieving sustainable growth alongside society. This process is also well-aligned with the SDGs.

About the ecoVadis sustainability report

As a supplier of sustainability and CSR evaluations, ecoVadis rates companies and organisations in these fields on a global scale. The companies, which manage to achieve the highest ratings in this measurement process – including Konica Minolta – are awarded the Gold rating. The rating procedure is based on scorecards for each participating company, which cover 21 CSR indicators, 150 commodities and 110 countries. The categories include the Environment, Labor & human rights, Ethics, and Sustainable procurement. This evaluation environment is built on the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact and the ISO 26000, which takes the categories environment, social, ethics and supply chain into account.
