Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd and its partner, business solutions specialist Four Digital Solutions, are proudly sponsoring a North America sports tour for students from St George's School in Harpenden, Hertfordshire. In July, 75 senior students from across the school’s lacrosse and rugby teams will embark on a 13-day tour of the United States and Canada.

Girls and boys teams of mixed abilities will play games in Toronto, Ottawa, Buffalo, and Montreal, as well as competing in a tournament at the Olympic Park in Lake Placid. The students will also participate in cultural and educational activities, including a visit to the Niagara Falls and attending a baseball game.

“This trip is about more than sport - it’s a chance for students to build confidence, form new friendships, and challenge themselves socially. Inclusivity is at the heart of our ethos, and we want every student, regardless of background or skill level, to feel part of the team.”

The tour is partially funded by parents and student-led fundraising efforts, with a target of £50,000 to support travel, extra activities, and inclusive access for all interested students. Corporate support from businesses like Konica Minolta and Four Digital Solutions has been instrumental in making the initiative a reality.

“I started coaching the rugby team because of my son and now, nine years later, I’m still helping out because of what sport gives back. Lacrosse has become something my daughters love too, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see all these young people come together and grow through shared experiences.”

Cameron Mitchell, Business Leader for Indirect Channel at Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd commented, “We’re passionate about backing initiatives that create opportunities for the next generation. Sport teaches resilience, teamwork, and leadership. All are qualities that benefit young people far beyond the playing field. Supporting Four Digital and St George’s School in making this experience accessible to all students aligns perfectly with our values around inclusion, wellbeing, and community impact and we wish them a great and memorable trip.”

To rally further support, the school launched a GoFundMe campaign to help close the remaining funding gap, and the community has rallied behind the project with remarkable enthusiasm. The campaign is still accepting donations, for more details visit here.
