Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd and Digital Office Solutions Ltd (DOS) will launch Nurse Assist at the Care Roadshow Yorkshire on 4th November. The AI-powered solution uses Konica Minolta’s innovative sensor technology to provide round-the-clock detection and alerts related to trips, falls and unexpected bed exits.

With Nurse Assist sensors discreetly installed, residents and care professionals are reassured that should an incident occur, day or night, it will be automatically detected and an alert immediately triggered, for the appropriate response to be taken. This is made possible using AI that has been programmed to identify (with 98.95% accuracy) specific types of movements that indicate a trip or fall.

DOS has been a Konica Minolta partner since 2021 and Lee Ackermann, Regional Sales Manager, comments, “Living in a care, nursing or retirement home should give peace of mind, without the loss of privacy, or sense of independence. Nurse Assist is a highly effective way to provide a higher standard of round the clock care, in a respectful and unobtrusive way.”

Nurse Assist is easy to install and configure, requiring just one network cable that also powers the device. The sensor is simply mounted to the ceiling and works out of the box, with the system automatically detecting the bed position. In addition, sensors can be configured for use in communal areas such as living, dining, activity rooms and corridors.

Head of Technical VSS Sales at Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK)

“Unlike other monitoring systems that requires residents to wear a device or make contact with a pressure mat, Nurse Assist is non-invasive and fully GDPR compliant allowing it to provide dignified round the clock monitoring, not only for trips and falls, but also high-risk situations such as getting up from a chair or bed. It’s also designed to require minimal maintenance and comes with a 5-year warranty and will even self-manage so that if beds are moved, the sensor will automatically reconfigure to the optimal detection zone without requiring costly engineer visits.”

Care professionals visiting the Care Roadshow, which takes place at Elland Road Stadium in Leeds on Tuesday 4th November, will be the first in the UK to watch live demonstrations of Nurse Assist.

Konica Minolta will also be presenting Nurse Assist at the Care Roadshow which takes place on 11th November at the Cardiff City Stadium.
