a1sovereign transforms print production capabilities with the Konica Minolta AccurioPress C4080

London, UK | 20 July 2021

Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd announces a1sovereign as the first UK Partner Channel customer to take delivery of its latest AccurioPress C4080. Supplied by IBS Office Solutions, a1sovereign is using the press to transform its print production abilities and meet increased demand from customers as it evolves to answer the challenges of the post-COVID market.

Launched in December 2020, Konica Minolta’s AccurioPress C4080 Series is a new line of versatile colour digital production presses that combine outstanding quality and performance with features that help customers adapt to changing market requirements and develop new revenue streams.

The installation of the AccurioPress C4080 is also a milestone for IBS, being its first sale of a Konica Minolta production print solution. Jonathan Boakes, Senior Service Technician at IBS commented, “With impressive consistency, colour accuracy and longevity, combined with impressive running costs, the AccurioPress C4080 is perfect for a1sovereign’s requirements. The Konica Minolta production print range is providing us with fresh market opportunities and a broader customer audience too, enabling us to take the next step in our own evolution as well.”

a1sovereign provides design, print and fulfilment services within the UK FMCG sector and also offers digital printing & copyshop services to local businesses and consumers from its base in Streatley, Berkshire.

A new colour press was on the radar for some months and following guidance from IBS Office Solutions as its trusted provider, a1sovereign had a practical demonstration at Konica Minolta’s showroom, using its own substrates. The company uses a variety of substrates, coated and uncoated, as well as more adventurous product such as SRA3 self-adhesive laser film from Kernow Coatings. The latter enables them to quickly and simply produce stickers and decals using a dry toner process.

“We were very impressed by the quality of the detail, solids and overall consistency, as well as how its workflow management software can be used to automate the processing of jobs,” adds a1sovereign’s Operations Director, Tony Mitchell.

The arrival of the AccurioPress C4080 was perfectly timed to help a1sovereign cater for market changes resulting from COVID restrictions. The company recorded 35% annual growth in its accounts to March 2021, with the AccurioPress C4080 being instrumental in this achievement, working alongside other investments in new technology in the Finishing Dept.   Fast, automated production of sanitisation-friendly laminated print products has, unsurprisingly, been one area of significant growth.

“The C4080 enables us to use any of our chosen substrates without jamming, maintains full speed, auto duplexes, and registration is perfect - all the issues we had with our previous print solution have been resolved.”

Since installation, a1 Sovereign has added an extra wide paper deck to the AccurioPress C4080, to bring the increasingly popular 6-panel A4 brochure production inhouse.

Tony concludes, “IBS have been truly supportive from the initial enquiry, arranging and joining us for the showroom demonstration, through to giving us advice on the optimal configuration for the press. The attention from Konica Minolta has also been first class, with delivery and installation of the machine being faultless and carried out with military precision.”

Jon Hiscock, Head of Production and Industrial Print at Konica Minolta also added, “It is great to see the AccurioPress C4080 enabling a1sovereign to evolve with its growing market and we are proud to partner with IBS. The combination of our market leading technologies, knowledge and expertise with our partners value-add approach enables IBS to stand out from the crowd.”
