Following its formation with the merger of Peterborough College and New College Stamford, the Inspire Education Group (IEG) needed to better control and manage its fleet of multifunctional print devices (MFDs). Additionally, IEG was looking to rationalise and improve its in-house print room to meet evolving needs whilst delivering the high quality required.
CHALLENGE
IEG has over 1500 staff and 10,000 students spread across two campuses. Staff and students have access to Konica Minolta multifunctional print devices (MFDs), which provide print, photocopying and scanning facilities. Peterborough College has worked with Konica Minolta as a provider of its managed print infrastructure for over 10 years. Following the creation of IEG, a period of consolidation saw a merging of 65 MFDs across the Peterborough and Stamford sites.
SOLUTION
Following a re-tendering process in 2021, Konica Minolta helped IEG make a number of improvements to its MFD print fleet to optimise its resources and ensure it catered for the needs of all stakeholders. This included reducing the number of MFDs by targeting them exactly where required, as well as assisting IEG with the implementation of leading print management software from PaperCut to take full advantage of its powerful analysis features.
