  • Konica Minolta Enables Windsor Academy Trust To Embrace Fully Cloud-Based Print Infrastructure With PAPERCUT HIVE

Windsor Academy Trust, a longstanding Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd customer, has successfully transitioned to a cloud based print infrastructure using PaperCut Hive. With support from the Konica Minolta team and specifically its Technical Consultant Paul Ryan, the Trust has deployed the solution across 15 schools and three offices, enabling seamless, secure printing for over 10,000 users.

Challenge

The Trust’s goal was to eliminate all on-site servers and move to a fully cloud-based environment. While its PaperCut MF print management software (which tracks, controls, and secures printing across its print devices) had served the organisation well, it required local server infrastructure, which conflicted with the Trust’s serverless strategy. Windsor Academy Trust also wanted to rationalise its printer fleet, cut paper usage, and improve data visibility across its schools. With staff moving between different sites and with thousands of users, the solution needed to be simple, scalable, and secure.

Solution

Following in-depth discussions with the Konica Minolta team and from its own research, it became clear that PaperCut Hive, a cloud-native print management solution aligned perfectly with the Trust’s goals. The transition was seamless, with automated user assignment and no need for new logins. “We didn’t want any hassle during the setting up of PaperCut Hive, and Konica Minolta made it frictionless,” said Dave Buckley. The Trust retained some PaperCut MF licences to compare approaches but quickly saw the benefits of PaperCut Hive and began enrolling additional sites independently.
