The College of Policing is a professional body for everyone working across policing. It is anoperationally independent non-departmental public body. About 600 people work for the College of Policing across England and Wales, including seconded officers and staff from forces. It also has a network of associates that partner with it as trainers, coaches, assessors, designers and expert witnesses. It has sites in County Durham, Coventry, Harrogate and London.
CHALLENGE
Printed materials continue to be an important part of modern policing, alongside innovations in the use of digital media and communications. Many forces operate their own print rooms and trust Konica Minolta for the reliability of its products, the high-quality printed materials it produces, and the level of ongoing service and support. Since its inception in 2012, the College of Policing has become an intrinsic part of policing in England and Wales, setting standards and providing professional development.
SOLUTION
The contract was awarded to Konica Minolta through the Crown Commercial Service framework. As the incumbent technology supplier, it was able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the College’s print room operations, as well as a strategic plan to ensure it would continue to meet the demands placed upon it, as requirements change.
