WASTEFUL PRINTING ON MULTIPLE SITES WITHOUT DEDICATED IT STAFF
On top of reducing expenses and eliminating paper misuse, Konica Minolta's print solution was ideal to support DNEAT’s shift to hybrid working. The solution’s cloud printing functionality enables teachers and staff with flexible remote workflows, increasing efficiency for blended learning and hybrid work.
As a multi-site organisation, with no dedicated IT team, DNEAT’s printing was completely uncontrolled. With the large printing volume of an entire school trust and no centralised software, all of DNEAT’s print jobs were direct by default. When staff travelled between sites they needed to install print drivers specific to each site which created staff frustration and IT resourcing Issues. The uncontrolled print led to overspending on print consumables and overflowing waste paper bins. So they needed print management software. However, given the diverse nature of the Trust, onsite infrastructure would have been costly and difficult to maintain as well as not providing all the features the Trust required.
To solve this problem, DNEAT asked Konica Minolta to share their expertise in providing Print Management for schools across the UK. Working closely with DNEAT and their IT Managed Service Provider, RM Education, Konica Minolta suggested that a cloud-based print management solution could be the answer to their problems. PaperCut Hive was quickly identified as the ideal solution to deliver the features the Trust required without expensive on-site infrastructure.
