Peter Vardy was reliant on a fragmented, legacy print fleet across its Scottish dealerships and headquarters. With no common, centralised policy to control the purchase of printers, ad-hoc buying led to an unmanaged print infrastructure with a variety of contract start and end dates.

Different staff across the organisation dealt with print issues as they arose. These uncoordinated efforts resulted in duplication of time and resources whilst continuing to add to the overall inefficiency of the procurement and service management of the print estate.

Solution

Through an initial Discovery Audit Process, specialist audit consultants provided Peter Vardy with factual insight into their current fleet, expenditure, future requirements and identified process improvement opportunities. Following this, recommendations were presented on ways to optimise and rationalise the fleet, moving Peter Vardy to a fully managed print estate, sourced and serviced from a single manufacturer.

As a result, Peter Vardy’s fleet was rationalised from 106 devices to 74 proactively managed multifunction devices (MFDs), integrated with SafeQ for managed workflow.
