At Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd, social responsibility isn’t just something we talk about; it’s something we live and breathe. Every year, our people come together to support causes that matter deeply to them, and 2025 has again shown just how powerful that collective commitment can be.

In 2025, our colleagues voted for Cancer Research UK to be Konica Minolta’s official charity partner for 2025/2026 - a choice that reflects how many lives cancer touches. According to the charity, there are more than 393,000 new cancer cases in the UK every year, that's around 1,100 every day (2018-2019, 2021). These numbers underline why supporting life‑saving research and patient support services is so vital.

Stepping up for Cancer Research UK

Over the past year, two of the standout moments have been a 20km walk around London landmarks in July and a ‘Walk 30 Miles in November’ Challenge. Colleagues across the business laced up their walking shoes, in the midday sun in July and freezing temperatures in November, both raising much-needed funds for the charity.

Thanks to their dedication - and the generosity of friends and family, along with our customers and partners - we’ve already raised £3,800 in 2025 since our partnership began at the end of May. But we’re not stopping there. More fundraising activities are already being planned for 2026, ensuring our support continues to grow alongside the needs of the charity and those it supports.

Cancer Research UK plays a crucial role in improving outcomes for people affected by cancer. It funds world‑leading research, supports prevention and early diagnosis initiatives, and provides vital information and resources for patients and families.

Empowering employees to give back

We believe one of the things that makes Konica Minolta special is the way we empower our people to make a difference. Every employee receives a dedicated workday each year for volunteering, giving them the freedom to support causes they are personally passionate about - whether that’s environmental conservation, youth mentoring, community outreach, or charity fundraising.

A wonderful example is the work of our Partner Marketing Manager, Marie Woodhead, who gave her time to help six-year-old Freddie Hughes with his Easter Appeal, which resulted in more than 1200 Easter Eggs being shared with children battling cancer and other debilitating illnesses, via the Candlelighters charity in Yorkshire.

This initiative has become a cornerstone of our culture, encouraging our colleagues to bring their values into the workplace and strengthening our connection to the communities we serve.

Supporting young minds through Earth Cubs

In 2025, we partnered with Earth Cubs to support the Happy Happy Minds programme, helping young children build emotional resilience and wellbeing through creative, engaging digital content. This collaboration reflects our belief that technology can be a force for good - especially when it empowers the next generation to thrive. We are looking forward to continuing this important work in the year ahead.

Inspiring the next generation of innovators

We were also proud to host our third Ada Lovelace event, with TechGirls, designed to inspire local school pupils to explore STEM subjects and consider future careers in technology. By opening our doors and sharing our expertise, we aim to help close the digital skills gap and encourage more young women to pursue opportunities in science, engineering, and digital innovation.

Events like this are a reminder that social responsibility isn’t just about giving back today - it’s about investing in the future.

A shared commitment to making a difference

From charity walks to youth programmes, from employee volunteering to STEM education, Konica Minolta’s social impact work is driven by one thing: our people. Their passion, generosity, and willingness to step forward and make all of this possible. As we begin 2026, we’re excited to build on this momentum - supporting Cancer Research UK, strengthening our community partnerships, and finding new ways to make a positive difference to the communities and world that we share.
