Konica Minolta introduces Remote by Default for quicker and safer installation of bizhub print solutions

| 20 October 2020

Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd today announced that it has introduced a streamlined Remote by Default approach to the installation of its wide range of bizhub print solutions. By taking advantage of the very latest remote support innovations, including its own AIRe Link, Konica Minolta is making it faster, simpler and safer for customers to access the technology they need to rethink and re-open their office working environments.

The new remote installation process will see MFD devices prepared, software configured and power/network requirements agreed, prior to shipping to the customer. Once in situ, Konica Minolta will securely access each device remotely, to complete the installation and ensure it is fully operational. Should any ‘hands-on’ steps be required during the installation, the support team will guide the customer through the process in a live interactive session using AIRe Link.

Nick Ranson, UK Director of Value Added Services, Konica Minolta Business Solutions UK, states: “As organisations reopen their offices and welcome back employees, they are rethinking the technologies they need to optimise productivity and reduce operational costs, as well as enabling more remote working longer term.”

Nick continues: “As a result we are experiencing strong demand for workflow automation and document management solutions that incorporate our bizhub multifunction printers. Our new Remote by Default process means our customers get their new devices up and running sooner, delivering the benefits they need faster. All whilst complying with customer requirements for social distancing and limitations regarding on-site visitors.”

In addition to making it quicker and safer for organisations to introduce, upgrade and gain access to support for Konica Minolta’s MFDs, the use of remote technology such as AIRe Link will reduce its carbon footprint, as the mileage recorded by its engineers is expected to fall by at least 50%. Nick adds: “This is another demonstration of Konica Minolta’s global commitment to sustainability.”
