Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd has today welcomed the next generation of technology specialists to its Girls in Tech event at the company’s Client Engagement Centre (CEC) in Houghton Regis in Bedfordshire. Held in partnership with TechGirls, Year 8 students from local schools are marking Ada Lovelace Day, an international celebration of the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).
Ada Lovelace Day aims to increase the profile of women in STEM and, in doing so, create new role models who will encourage more girls into STEM careers, whilst supporting women already working in these sectors. As part of the TechGirls community, Konica Minolta has delivered workshops to girls across the UK and today’s event aims to support students who are about to decide their GCSE Options and encourage them to think about career paths towards STEM sectors.
