Increased their efficiency by instaling software on existing printers

While reducing the costs of their print services is a key target for Tameside. A larger issue they wanted to address was, increasing their IT flexibility with their existing printer fleet.

They had a fleet of 112 Konica Minolta MFDs and 10 desktop devices. But they needed to be able to relocate these devices as demand changes across their sites. The solution also needed to enable print, copy and scan services for a flexible workforce.

Like many other local authorities, Tameside shares their devices with some NHS bodies. In this case the local Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), who have their own active directory. So the solution needed to be able to identify whether the individual from the council or the CCG. And also match against the relevant payroll and accounting systems.

Tameside chose to embed the YSoft SafeQ Print Management Suite on the multifunction devices. The YSoft SafeQ Print roaming allows Tameside to move the MFDs strategically. And makes people really think about whether they need to print a document.

For the desktop printers, they wanted to use the YSoft SafeQ Reporting module. With this software, they could create resource management reports and email it to each director show costs for each of their staff. This is also integrated with their accounting system and can be compared against payroll.

Konica Minolta's deployment of YSoft SafeQ went smoothly, is safe, secure and it runs like a dream...With YSoft SafeQ, I do not have to rely on IT to make changes. The dashboard allows me to see all our licenses which makes my life much easier.
