Challenge

The Trust’s legacy print infrastructure was no longer fit for purpose. The fleet was ageing with some devices more than seven years old. Fleet management was proving to be timeintensive and SET was keen to benefit from a solution that would automate tasks such as consumables replenishment, as well as provide greater levels of visibility over usage and volumes output. The Trust was looking to refresh its print strategy.

Solution

Konica Minolta reduced the total number of devices, recommending a fleet comprising 620 printers and multifunctional products (MFPs) to be strategically sited across all locations. The proposal included an increased number of shared networked workgroup MFPs, as well as several standalone machines deployed in remote locations including prisons, where there were infrastructure or security constraints which made network connection impractical.
In addition, Konica Minolta installed an intelligent capture agent onto the MFPs, allowing users to digitise patient records and scan directly into the Electronic Document Records Management System (EDRMS) via a one-touch proces.

Continuous optimisation and management of fleet, combined with sophisticated software solutions that deliver greater visibility and transparency over volume, usage, and performance, is helping the Trust realise ongoing efficiency gains and tangible cost savings. Whilst a dedicated onsite service provision is ensuring maximum uptime.
