Text messaging is saving tutors time; eliminating the need to chase around the campus to locate students.
Brockenhurst College is the first choice sixth form for more than 2,700 school leavers across the region. It also enrolls more than 8,000 adult students each year across a range of skills and qualification courses, apprenticeship programmes and tailor-made courses for business and industry.
Being able to communicate effectively with its community is a high priority for the college. It’s essential that they minimise no-shows. If a tutoring appointment is missed, simply because a student forgot, staff time is wasted and this ultimately affects the bottom line. In addition the College wanted to enhance and improve the way they support students.
Konica Minolta | ProcessFlows implemented an SMS messaging service, which enables tutors to contact pupils quickly and easily, as well as providing a solution to handle incoming enquiries which allows the college to provide a self-service information option for all students. Text messaging is also being used to enable students to sign up for text alerts on future courses, events and special offers from the College.
The options suggested by Konica Minolta | ProcessFlows were straight forward and fitted well with our existing systems. A self-service option for parents to request information by SMS enables communication directly with students and parents. Tutors use Emily on a daily basis to monitor attendance and to relay information to learners.
