Konica Minolta proudly supports the Scottish Business Pledge for a fairer and more prosperous society
We're delighted to announce that we have committed to the Scottish Business Pledge, demonstrating its dedication to uphold the best modern business practices and embracing the principles of fairness, equality, opportunity, and innovation.
The Scottish Business Pledge is a values-led partnership between government and business. It is a shared ambition of boosting productivity, competitiveness, sustainable employment, and workforce engagement as well as development.
The Pledge has nine components. Konica Minolta has met or are committed to the following elements:
The Living Wage
Konica Minolta are committed to paying the Living Wage and ensuring all contractors the company engage with are also committed to this. We believe that fairer pay encourages a more dedicated workforce and helps to create a fairer and more prosperous society.
Zero Hours Contracts
We are proud to say that we do not employ any employees on zero hours contracts and believe in fairness, mutual trust, and building a positive and secure working environment where employees can achieve their full potential.
Dedicated to bringing the best out of our employees, we operate a robust performance management process that is linked to reward and includes discussions around development and career progression. Our family friendly policies and flexible and agile working practices encourage staff to focus on outputs and performance rather than the location and hours that individuals work.
Investment in youth
As part of our ongoing Talent strategy, we invest in internships, apprentices (utilising the Apprenticeship Levy) as well as Graduates programme. Within our Service organisation, we have developed a Pathfinder programme, which encourages the recruitment of trainee field service technicians and helps them to achieve their full potential via the structured programme.
A balanced workforce
We strive for fairness and equality. Our Leadership team is 50% female and we have a 75% male to 25% female ratio throughout the business. Further, we are developing a Diversity and Inclusion strategy as part of our overall Engagement focus and have set up a Women’s Network to encourage and promote greater gender balance.
Konica Minolta is renowned for its history in technology innovation and is a leading global provider of digital printing, augmented reality technologies, and managed content and IT services. One of our core company values is “being innovative” and in the UK we have a Business Innovation Centre that is responsible for developing and launching disruptive technologies like the “Workplace Hub” platform which connects people, places and devices, giving you the power, freedom and efficiency to work as you want.
In Scotland, the company has a dedicated Corporate and Enterprise Account Manager who actively pursues business opportunities in this sector and a Global Major Accounts structure, which facilitates international business. As an example, we were successful in winning the Weir Group contract which saw the deployment of Konica Minolta devices throughout Scotland, Australia and the United States.
We have offices in Aberdeen and Livingston and as such not only support local communities through the employment of local people, but also actively support charities in these communities too. Some recent examples of these have been our support of the Aberdeen FC Community Trust, where we supported their annual business lunch and our continued support of the Woodlands Trust where we regularly get involved in tree planting.
We believe in prompt payment and building and maintaining good relationships with our suppliers. Invoices are normally paid within 30-60 days and we encourage suppliers to invoice our Accounts Payable team directly to reduce the risk of invoices going astray.
