Konica Minolta’s digital solutions power Service Graphics’ delivery of highly secure print to government and City clients

London, UK | 23 July 2021

Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd has supplied its multi-award winning AccurioPress C14000 and C12000 digital presses, with IQ-501 Intelligent Quality Care, and online booklet maker to central London-based print expert Service Graphics. As the commercial print division of leading European Customer Communications, Identification and Graphics Services provider - Paragon Group, the company chose the presses to power its high-quality secure print service for government agencies and high-profile clients in The City.

Managing Director of Service Graphics City, Robert Long explained, “We wanted to upgrade to digital kit to perfectly match the top-end print output that our niche market customers demand. Seeing the Konica Minolta presses in action we were impressed with the consistency of colour and registration for higher value work, with the IQ-501 standing out, along with the attractive service and comprehensive support package.”

Having delivered print excellence to its highly exacting clientele for 25 years, Service Graphics recently invested in a new and highly secure facility in central London - featuring a 24/7 manned reception, secure print room and restricted access document room – all of which have helped it achieve inclusion on the Crown Commercial Service procurement framework. With secure workflows and business practices, Service Graphics provides its customers with premium products, including full finishing services, 24/7/365 - all with secure dispatch and transfer using an unmarked electric vehicle.

The Konica Minolta presses have been perfectly integrated into operations, as Rob continued, “The two machines are situated back-to-back delivering excellent levels of productivity. Recently we delivered a large financial report with 1,400 copies and a tight deadline over a Bank Holiday, splitting the work over the two machines to rapidly print the text and imagery and bind the reports. We are now fully self-sufficient in printing and finishing and this flexibility has been invaluable during the pandemic, enabling us to work with a greater diversity of clients (such as direct marketing), which has provided fresh opportunities.”

Neil Hyde, Solutions Architect, Professional Print Central Communications at Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd also stated, “We are proud to supply Service Graphics with their new digital solutions, particularly as it was against strong competition from their long-standing incumbent supplier. Our IQ unit, along with the robust build and speed of our solutions were all key factors. The AccurioPress C14000 and C12000 are flagship products and present a game-changer for Konica Minolta and our customers.”

With lockdown restrictions easing, Service Graphics is now re-engaging with City of London clients. Rob concluded, “From our prime location we are supporting returning customers in the Square Mile. In addition to the print services provided through the Konica Minolta technology investment we deliver large format print, securely and with quick turnaround. Over the last 25 years we have seen the market-leading manufacturers change, but clearly Konica Minolta has stolen a march in terms of technology, production volumes and even the aesthetics of the presses, which have all influenced our investment.”
