Konica Minolta listed in new £5m five-year Liverpool City Council Framework

| 10 November 2020

Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd is proud to announce it has been listed on a new five-year Framework from Liverpool City Council (LCC) for the provision of Multifunctional Devices (MFDs) to Merseyside schools and Local Authorities. LCC’s Central Procurement Office has launched the Framework to drive forward innovation and deliver value for money, by providing the means to purchase products and services smartly and at best price.

Konica Minolta has a prominent and long-standing customer-base in Liverpool and the surrounding areas, with customers including primary and secondary schools, academies, Higher Education and Further Education institutions, as well as commercial businesses and dedicated print rooms.

Jonathan Smith, Head of Public Sector Sales at Konica Minolta commented, “Konica Minolta has been the sole supplier to LCC for the past two and a half years. We wanted to further engage in the community to help local schools and authorities benefit from a fixed contract and pricing agreement, in the same way that the Council does. The partnership with LCC will also offer us the opportunity to attract potential new customers, who can be confident the delivery will be backed by the Council’s pre-agreed SLAs.”

During the tendering process, all potential suppliers were scored on quality and price. Konica Minolta received the highest scores across the combined thresholds to be the number one bidder.

LCC wanted to provide a Framework to help all education providers, with a dedicated procurement route via the Council to offer best value, modern and new technology. This is combined with the reassurance of using the Council’s pre-approved agreement, offering safe, compliant procurement that ensures fixed costs and total transparency.

The Framework is initially set to run for five years and aims to help all schools across Merseyside procure equipment via LCC. With a combined value of £5m in Liverpool alone, the scheme is also being made available for other areas in the North West including Sefton, Wirral, and Halton. Customers will benefit from pre-approved best pricing, a dedicated sales account manager, locally based support and fixed costs.

Jonathan concluded, “Konica Minolta is listed on a number of UK Frameworks as part of our commitment to public sector buyers, with benefits including cost savings, faster procurement, and compliance peace of mind, as well as full continuity of parts, consumables and accessories throughout the contract.”
