Eddie Stobart’s Digital Transformation Journey

| 9 October 2020

Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd today shared results from its partnership with the leading supply chain company Eddie Stobart, to include cost reductions of 35%. The organisations have worked together in partnership for the last 12 years, primarily focused on Eddie Stobart’s digital transformation strategy. A key objective of their partnership was to support the transition to a paperless office. This has been accelerated by a unified print strategy as well as automation of key processes and an improved document management system. This approach has not only increased efficiencies but has enabled improved cost control across 60 sites.

On 14th October between 11am and 12pm, the IT Director at Eddie Stobart, Vince Sparks, will join Amanda Walsh, Head of Global and Enterprise Sales and Gemma Lee, Head of Transformation at Konica Minolta UK, for a free-to-attend webinar on digital transformation within the Supply Chain. Vince Sparks will share his experience on delivering successful transformation and the critical part people, process and technology play in this process.

The first stage in the print transformation journey at Eddie Stobart was working with Konica Minolta to implement a Discovery phase to assess process efficiencies that could be realised in order to improve services but also reduce costs. Key problem areas and manual or paper-based tasks were identified as well as complexities such as managing disparate print contracts and a myriad of different devices. The solution delivered enabled Eddie Stobart to provide a single print infrastructure that spans all of its 60 sites.

Konica Minolta was chosen as a trusted partner based on the support, flexibility, proactive approach, competitive pricing, and quality of its solutions. Head of Global and Enterprise Sales at Konica Minolta UK, Amanda Walsh, states: “We always strive to work in partnership with our customers, understand the challenges they face and their main objectives. Our focus is on what our customer’s need to achieve and how we can help make that happen, not simply the technology involved.”

As a result of Konica Minolta solutions, Eddie Stobart now benefits from excellent reporting across all devices, which provides visibility to individual departments regarding user behaviour and print costs. Key to the success of the project was the people aspect. Training ensured that users have the skills and knowledge to use the new technology, but education on why things were changing was also key. This education and awareness approach is nurturing better printing habits, and embedding transformation across the business.
