With Konica Minolta's solution, the university has reached 35% reduction in devices across the campus, delivering a significant reduction in cost, as well as a 20% reduction in print volume
Founded in 1495, the University of Aberdeen is one of Scotland’s leading learning institutions, supporting a community of 14,500 students and 2,500 staff. It was ranked ‘Scottish University of the Year’ in the 2019 Sunday Times Good University Guide, in recognition of its excellence in teaching quality, degree outcomes and graduate prospects.
The University was relying on a fragmented mix of managed and unmanaged print devices across the campus. There were issues with reliability which absorbed significant day-to-day resources, and the siloed nature of the fleet made it difficult to monitor and control the cost of operation.
The University is benefiting from a smart, agile work environment – one that offers flexibility, security and ease of use for students and staff alike. 324 MFDs have been deployed as part of a 100%, fully managed solution. To enhance security, students and staff need to authenticate themselves in order to print securely but they can do so from any device across the campus. Print management software also provides the University with insightful device performance information.
The quality of service delivery is helping us to realise significant savings, optimise workflow processes, and continually identify areas for improvement.
