Konica Minolta launches KIP mono systems and introduces the KIP C7800 for colour wide format flexibility

Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd has expanded its wide format portfolio to include three new monochrome multifunctional systems and one colour system from KIP.

Modular, integrated and expandable, the KIP 7700 and KIP 7900 multifunctional mono printing systems deliver versatility, advanced technology and superior image quality as well as reliable performance. Used either as network printers or via USB, the KIP 7700 and KIP 7900 proving A0 prints.

These KIP products are available in a variety of system configurations to meet specific production demands. Upgrades include scanning functionality, stacker and an online folder, with finishing performed at full output speed. Low production costs and a small footprint mean professional print providers and design studios can benefit from these mono wide format devices.

The KIP 7100 is an all-in-one mono system providing printing, copying and colour scanning functionality. Front access to all major functions increases operational convenience, and the just square metre footprint guarantees high productivity even in small offices. The system manages roll and cut sheet media for better versatility and flexibility. The KIP 7100’s advanced monochrome LED printing technology is very economical and delivers affordable wide format prints. Finishing options include stacking and folding.

These monochrome wide format printing systems provide superior usability in the form of a large on-board colour LCD touch panel. This intuitive user interface means even users without special training can operate the printers easily.

All KIP 7 series systems feature IPS 7.4, a comprehensive new software suite including the KIP Cost Review Application for easy cost management and accounting. All systems also offer PC and web-based viewing. In addition, KIP Cloud Printing provides direct email-based accessibility that does not require intermediate servers, allowing total document privacy and security for printing from any connected device. Certified drivers for Windows and AutoCAD deliver optimal compatibility.

Mark Hinder, Production Print Market Development Manager, Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) stated, “With the KIP 7700/7900 and the KIP 7100 we have further updated our wide format portfolio with extremely versatile monochrome systems. These systems team up to be the most complete selection for technical environments we have ever been able to offer.”

Further strengthening its portfolio in this segment, The KIP C7800 is a hybrid colour and monochrome LED wide format device providing a powerful production print solution for technical and engineering documents, manufacturing plans and schematics, architectural renderings and maps. Equipped with Linux-based Raster Image Processing (RIP) software from Caldera, the KIP C7800 is also an excellent solution for graphic arts customers.

Based on a unique LED printing design that cuts the operational costs of high-quality colour and black-and-white printing, the KIP C7800 delivers 600 by 2,400 dpi resolution at fast print speeds in monochrome and colour. To increase productivity, this new wide format production print system offers large media capacity, with three roll decks and an auto sheet feeder that allows users to mix print sizes at full production speed and ensures enhanced versatility for handling special media.

In monochrome only mode, print media completely bypasses all colour imaging units cutting the overall operation cost for affordable monochrome CAD prints. The KIP C7800 also includes a large CMYK toner capacity allowing longer, uninterrupted print runs.

A touchscreen user interface allows intuitive operation and the exclusive single-belt drive system provides automatic media calibrations, for ease of use. Three integrated, auto-loading media roll drawers provide ultra-fast switching between rolls for collated sets of varying sizes or media types.

The KIP C7800 offers versatile production advantages via upgrade, including cloud based printing, scan and copy functionality as well as fully integrated stacking and folding. The professional colour and plot management options of the KIP reprocontrol.net software complete the system capabilities, providing a total solution for technical applications, including outdoor applications thanks to waterproof and lightfast toner technology.

Commenting on the KIP C7800, Mark Hinder, Production Print Market Development Manager, Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) said, “The KIP C7800 offers low cost of operation with LED technology, offering end-users in need of wide format colour printing real productivity and cost benefits.
