Konica Minolta UK are proud to partner with national domestic violence charity Refuge – a partnership which will raise funds and awareness to help Refuge support 3,700 men, women and children affected by domestic violence on any given day.
Konica Minolta is passionate about raising awareness of social issues and has established a great foundation and process for engaging and working with local and international charities.
Two women a week are killed by a current or former partner in England and Wales and since 1971 Refuge has led the campaign against domestic violence. During the last 45 years the charity has grown to become the country's largest single provider of specialist domestic violence services.
Funds raised through this partnership will support Refuge's work including:
- A network of refuges across the country
- Independent domestic violence advocacy
- Child support workers
- Community outreach programmes
Konica Minolta will be running fundraising events and promoting Refuge throughout its regional offices, whilst educating its wider network of partners and associates about domestic violence
Sandra Horley CBE, chief executive of Refuge, said:
"Refuge is delighted to have been selected by Konica Minolta as one of its charity partners. Domestic violence is a huge issue for women in this country, with one in four women experiencing domestic violence at some time in their lives. Refuge is incredibly grateful for this opportunity, which will not only raise awareness of domestic violence and the services we provide, but will also raise vital funds. This partnership will make a huge difference to the women and children we support. Thank you."
In March 2016, Konica Minolta became an 'Oak Member' of the Woodland Trust, the highest level of Corporate membership available.
As an 'Oak Member', Konica Minolta has enabled the Woodland Trust to buy and plant an acre of new native woodland and maintain it forever.
The partnership with the Woodland Trust enables Konica Minolta to not only meet the environmental goals we have set ourselves, but also actively improve our impact on the environment, and reduce the carbon footprint of our large manufacturing business.
As the UK's largest woodland conservation charity, the Woodland Trust is the leading voice for woods and trees – its vision is to see a UK rich in native woods and trees, for people and wildlife. It seeks to protect existing woodland, restore ancient woodland, and create new woodland.
The protection of woodland is not only about saving trees, but also nurturing the unique ecosystem of plants and animals that exists in a woodland environment. Woodland which has existed for more than 400 years is known as ancient woodland and it only covers around 2 per cent of the UK. With its intricate ecosystems built over centuries it is particularly special and irreplaceable.
