In a major strategic policy development Jos Kelly has joined the Board of Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd as Director of Business Development, Production and Solutions. He will report to Mr Yuki Kobayashi, Managing Director of the company. Previously Jos was Head of Production Print Division for Konica Minolta Business Solutions.

In his new role Jos will be responsible for the strategic direction of Konica Minolta Business Solutions as a leading provider of document and imaging solutions, taking in both hardware and software applications. The delivery and customer implementation of Konica Minolta solutions will also form part of his remit. The aim is to ensure that Konica Minolta secures its goal of being the leading provider of document and imaging solutions in the UK.

Over the past two years Konica Minolta has taken great strides to position itself as a total solution supplier, able to meet all customer needs for document and imaging technology. During 2006 the company formed the Professional Services and Solutions Group with the express aim of delivering Konica Minolta's own and approved 'best of breed' third party solutions to customers.

Commenting on his new role Jos Kelly said, "The intention is to provide the company with a strategic roadmap for development and contemporary thinking in terms of matching our hardware offering with the right software applications and the optimum service delivery for the customer. Manufacturing the best devices but leaving the customer to work out how to get the best from their investment is not enough any more. By understanding our customer we can work in partnership with them to ensure they gain real benefits for their business and can adopt new technologies to improve efficiency and, ultimately, profitability."

Konica Minolta Business Solutions' rapid increase in sales has seen the company's share of the market for true colour multifunctional devices grow to over a third, with a 34.9 per cent leading share, according to Infosource.
