Nieuwegein, The Netherlands, 2 November 2005 - With the PagePro 1400W, Konica Minolta Printing Solutions Europe introduces one of the most compact and elegant monochrome laser printers available. The printer fits on any bookshelf, taking into account the size as well as the weight; it will easily find a place in every office environment.

The PagePro 1400W supports Windows® 98SE, Me, 2000 and XP and has a list price of € 129, - excluding VAT.

In comparison with the extremely successful predecessor PagePro 1300W, the 1400W is even more compact (in height and width) with an attractive two colour design. Furthermore, the USB interface is now the high speed 2.0 version. Software that indicates the status of the printer and consumables on the screen is shipped with the printer.

These features make the PagePro 1400W highly suitable for private users as well as for small (home) offices. Moreover, the PagePro 1400W is a perfect solution for large office environments, especially when privacy plays a role or if the print out needs to be directly accessible, for example at reception or with executives.

 

Sensible design

The PagePro 1400W only measures 354(b) x 269(d) x 240(h) mm. In order to save on space, the paper tray with a capacity of 150 sheets A4 has been designed to flip-up when not in use. The consumables (toner cartridge and photo drum) are accessible from the front and can be replaced without having to move the printer. This lightweight printer (6.3 kg) can be placed on every imaginable spot. Even the noise level is adjusted to the personal environment: maximum 54 dB in use and 39 dB in stand-by mode.

 

Performance

The PagePro 1400W is ready to use within 21 seconds after being switched on. The first page out is delivered within 13 seconds; after which the prints appear at a speed of 16 pages per minute (ppm) with a print resolution of 1200 x 600 of 600 x 600 dpi. The PagePro 1400W is capable of handling over 9,000 A4 prints per month. Furthermore, with 8 MB the printer has more than enough internal memory to quickly handle individual print jobs.

The PagePro 1400W is available from the beginning of November. It is supplied with a toner cartridge with a capacity of approximately 1,000 pages and a photo drum of 20,000 pages. Replacement toner cartridges have a capacity of approximately 2,000 pages. The printer carries a swap warranty of 1 year.
