Konica Minolta launch national consumer marketing campaign

Viral marketing campaign set to revolutionise the IT Channel

Konica Minolta have launched two interlocking consumer campaigns, highlighting their positioning and importance in the graphic design industry.

In the form of a microsite http://www.mastersofcolour.com, consumers are encouraged to learn about various elements of Konica Minolta’s values, competitions and current range of printers on offer. Masters of Colour holds Konica Minolta’s annual graphic design competition ‘Get Yourself Noticed’, whereby Konica Minolta are giving graphic designers the chance to change their future and become the rising star of graphic design in the UK. What is unique about this competition is that all entries will be seen by the top people in the industry who are media partners and will be on the judging panel. This includes Marketing Week, Computer Arts & Computer Arts projects.

Konica Minolta are revolutionizing their marketing strategy as they have implemented a strong viral tool into their campaign. As Harminder Ramanay , Head of Marketing for Konica Minolta IT Channel comments “Viral marketing is becoming increasingly powerful in marketing and spreading the message. For such a competition as Get Yourself Noticed, this is the most effective & successful marketing tool.” Using cutting edge viral marketing, through forums and social networking sites, Konica Minolta are looking for a ‘spread the word campaign’ to promote both their brand and printer products.

Alongside this campaign, Konica Minolta are promoting their printers by ‘Cool Offers’, a promotion where the purchaser will receive either an iPOD Touch or a three - year warranty on a selected range. Moving forward, Konica Minolta will be looking to educate the public on their products, moving away from the brand name of ‘Konica’ which has the camera association, towards ‘Konica Minolta’- cutting edge printers.
