KONICA MINOLTA IMAGING SOLUTIONS FIRST CHOICE FOR MANCHESTER’S BRIDGEWATER HOSPITAL

Konica Minolta has completed the installation of its leading-edge digital medical systems at the new BRIDGEWATER HOSPITAL, Manchester.

These include its recently launched, state-of-the-art ‘Drypro’ 793 Laser Imager and ‘Regius’ 190 CR System with CS-3 user interface, an ideal combination for an integrated PACS system.

The hospital is an independent healthcare provider offering facilities which include diagnostic X-ray, MRI, Ultrasound, plus 4D Ultrasound involving Nuchal Translucency screening.

Patients attending the hospital are either self-referring, or referred by their GP or Private Medical Insurance company. The hospital has also been accepted onto the Extended Choice Network, which means that some services will become available to NHS patients in 2007 through the Government’s Choose & Book initiative.

Commenting on the success of the hospital’s modern digital systems serving the imaging department, Adrian Stokes, the Lead Radiographer, said, “Konica Minolta Medical’ has provided us with a very user friendly and functional CR solution, which with the latest ‘Drypro’ 793 unit puts us in front with our healthcare service to the public of Manchester and the surrounding area.”

With regard to this new installation, Brian Goldthorpe, Konica Minolta Europe’s General Manager, said, “We are delighted to have been selected for this prestigious project in north west England, one of a number which we are supplying in this region. Given that the independent sector in England has the freedom to select CR systems which best suit the needs of their patients and staff, they are able to procure systems such as ours with freedom of choice.”

The Bridgewater Hospital is one of the latest UK medical establishments to install the new ‘Drypro’ Laser Imaging System, recognised as a technology leader, and which further extends Konica Minolta’s growing range of ‘dry’ lasers, and CR systems, setting the highest standards in radiology.
