Konica Minolta £1.4 million ad campaign kicks off with Ronaldinho

Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd is launching a major brand awareness advertising campaign, with a £1.4 million intensive burst advertising spend from January to April 2008. The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness of the Konica Minolta brand in the business community.

Star of the campaign is the Brazilian footballer Ronaldinho with two series of advertisements running in parallel and demonstrating that the right office solution can be the way for a company to raise its game. The series entitled 'The skills to win' advertises Konica Minolta's colour multifunctionals. The second series entitled 'Improve your game dramatically' features the black-and-white InfoLine design of the new generation of Konica Minolta bizhub multifunctionals.

The creative platform featuring the FC Barcelona midfielder was designed by Hakuhodo working with Konica Minolta's marketing team in Japan. Ronaldinho was the chosen to star in the campaign because his artistry on the pitch is the epitome of innovative technique, speed and agility as well as quality, reflecting the values that Konica Minolta represents in the digital colour imaging market.

In the UK the media buying campaign has been devised by DWA, the specialist international media planning and buying agency. Using mainly established business-to-business print media the schedule includes quality national daily newspapers; business magazines such as The Economist, Management Today and the Director; as well as key market verticals in the professional print, business equipment and IT sectors.
