Konica Minolta adds three bizhubs to mono range

Milton Keynes UK, 5 March 2009
Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd has launched three mono multifunctionals for workgroups. The new bizhub 222, bizhub 282 and bizhub 362 offer 22, 28 and 36 page per minute black–and-white output respectively and complete Konica Minolta’s mono mid-volume range in the new charcoal black livery with white InfoLine.

Developed to meet the needs of small offices and workgroups, the new mono bizhubs feature network print, copy and high-speed network scanning as standard with optional fax functionality.

All three new bizhubs have Konica Minolta’s Emperon™ print controller and offer support for Windows, Mac, UNIX, Linux and Citrix operating systems making them compatible with virtually any network infrastructure. Emperon™ supports PCL 6 and PostScript 3 as standard.

The 192M byte memory (upgradeable to a maximum 320M byte) provides comprehensive printing and copying functionality including versatile functions such as mixplex, n-up, and more. An optional 40G byte hard disc adds page storage capacity using Konica Minolta’s User Box (archive) technology. Up to 1,000 user boxes can be set up offering easy and instantaneous retrieval of any stored document.

Scanning comprehensive documents is fast and simple with the new bizhubs. Multi-page documents can be scanned automatically at up to 70 originals per minute via the optional document feeder. The embedded network interface card allows central scanning in any direction including scan-to-email, scan-to-FTP, scan-to-SMB as standard.

Optional Super G3 Fax functionality includes an array of useful functions with up to 540 one-touch keys and up to 300 broadcasting locations.

For operational security the bizhub 222, bizhub 282 and bizhub 362 all have a secure print feature that requires the user to enter a password directly at the bizhub before a print job is output. This avoids confidential information being left around and possibly falling into the wrong hands.

Paper from A6 to A3 format can be used as standard, with weights ranging from 50 to 210gsm via the bypass. Standard paper capacity is 1,150 sheets, which can be optionally expanded for high print volumes to 3,650 sheets. A flexible range of document finishing options provides generous functionality ranging from sorting and stapling via punching to the creation of complete centre-stapled and folded booklets.

Commenting on the launch of the new mono bizhubs, Wayne Snell, Group Product Manager for Konica Minolta office products said, “The addition of the bizhub 222, bizhub 282 and bizhub 362 rounds out Konica Minolta’s black-and-white range for small offices and workgroups. The new bizhubs offer a comprehensive feature set with a choice of output speeds to meet every customer need. With the new InfoLine and distinctive bizhub livery the bizhub 222, bizhub 282 and bizhub 362 are welcome additions to the popular bizhub mono range.”
