Konica Minolta’s top of the range colour systems just got even better with the launch of the bizhub C552 and bizhub C652. The award winning models they replace were highly successful in the office colour market, receiving the coveted Buyers Laboratory Inc (BLI) Pick of the Year awards for Outstanding Segment 4 Business Colour MFPs.
The new bizhub C552 and C652 offer an enhanced feature set, demonstrating Konica Minolta’s leadership of the colour document imaging market, through its policy of continual product improvement. Print speeds are 65 black-and-white and 50 colour pages per minute for the bizhub C652, and 55 and 45 pages respectively for the bizhub C552. As duplex (double sided) output, has become a common requirement for copying and printing, the bizhub C552 and C652 have no loss of speed for duplexing, compared with single-sided production in both black-and-white and colour.
Using Konica Minolta’s bizhub Emperon® print controller, the bizhub C552 and C652 offer network print, copy and high-speed network scanning as standard with optional fax functionality. An EFI Fiery controller option is also available which uniquely can be run in parallel to the standard Emperon controller. This means that the needs of both office and colour-intensive users can be satisfied simultaneously.
Performance is greatly enhanced with a new a 1 GHz CPU, a 250GB hard disk and 2GB of RAM memory for both models. The high capacity hard disk means graphics and images can be stored at their full 600dpi resolution. For the modern office there is even compatibility with 1GB Ethernet (1000Base-T) as standard.
The introduction of Induction Fusing technology means that the bizhub C552 and C652 have one of the lowest energy usage values of machines in their class, with power consumption approximately 70 percent below the Energy Star limit. Technological enhancements also give the two new bizhubs a warm up time of only 45 seconds from cold.
In addition the bizhubs benefits from using Konica Minolta’s patented Simitri® HD Polymerised Toner with smaller, smoother, more uniform toner particles for fusing at lower temperatures and producing high quality images with a wider colour gamut.
For data security, the bizhub C552 and C652 comply with the latest international security standard ISO 15408 EAL3. They are equipped with a complete security package, including IEEE 802.1x network access protocol, to keep critical information safe, preventing unauthorised access to networks and make tampering with confidential information impossible. For fast and accurate access, Advanced Biometric Authentication Finger Vein Scanner and non-contact IC Card options are also available.
Maximum paper supply is 6,650 sheets with A6 to A3+ sizes up to 300gsm in weight. Banners up to 1.2 metres in length can also be outputted. A range of finishing options are available including booklet making with unlimited output capacity thanks to a transport belt on the output tray.
For efficient management of the bizhub C552 and C652, Konica Minolta’s PageScope Enterprise Suite is available providing a suite of integrated software applications and utilities that allow businesses to save time, reduce costs and increase productivity.
Commenting on the launch of the new bizhub C552 and C652, Malcolm Smith, Group Product Manager for Konica Minolta office products said, “Our latest top of the line colour bizhubs build on an impressive pedigree with features that set new standards for the industry. In particular, the reduced energy consumption is a new benchmark for economy, as one of the lowest in class on the market. With the bizhub C552 and C652 we are demonstrating Konica Minolta’s leadership dominance in colour imaging.”
