Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd has launched three mid-range black-and-white multifunctionals. The bizhub 361, bizhub 421 and bizhub 501 offer 36, 42 and 50 prints per minute respectively and incorporate many of the features and options from Konica Minolta’s best selling colour multifunctional range. This includes the charcoal black livery with white InfoLine and a large full colour 8.5-inch display, with a touch screen that can be both rotated and tilted to suit a desired position.
The bizhub 361, bizhub 421 and bizhub 501 have been designed for workgroups and businesses requiring fast, efficient black and white production with powerful features and a multitude of document workflow solutions. All the new mono bizhubs offer copy and network scan (via standard 10/100/1000 BaseT Ethernet network interface) functionality with network print (both PCL and PS) and fax options. Flexible, fast scanning of up to 70 originals per minute is possible with all the new bizhubs.
The powerful EmperonTM controller provides Windows, Mac, UNIX, Linux and Citrix support, making the new bizhubs compatible with virtually any network infrastructure. EmperonTM also supports XPS, Microsoft Vista’s new XML paper specification.
With the optional 60GB HDD installed, the customer can access Konica Minolta’s User Box (archive) technology. Up to 1,000 User Boxes can be set up with flexible access rights and defined as public, for group use or private. Passwords are easily assigned where required. In addition Konica Minolta’s PageScope Box Operator can provide direct access from the PC to the stored documents, while multi-file preview enables fast searches via thumbnails.
For operational security, the bizhub 361, bizhub 421 and bizhub 501 comply with the latest international security standard ISO 15408 EAL3 and are equipped with a complete security package to keep critical information safe, preventing unauthorised access to networks and make tampering with confidential information impossible. For fast and accurate access, Biometric Authentication Finger Vein Scanner and Non-contact IC Card options are also available.
Maximum possible paper capacity is 5,650-sheets and for document finishing an optional compact yet highly modular finisher provides generous functionality ranging from sorting and stapling via punching to the creation of complete centre-stapled and folded booklets.
Commenting on the launch of the new mono bizhubs, Wayne Snell, Group Product Manager for Konica Minolta office products said, “Busy office environments, especially in mid-sized to larger companies, frequently experience bottlenecks when it comes to effective document production. With the bizhub 361, bizhub 421 and bizhub 501, Konica Minolta now offers the skills to win by presenting three mono multifunctionals that eliminate workflow bottlenecks.
