Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd has launched the new bizhub PRO 950 aimed at the CRD (central reprographics department) and light commercial production markets. The versatile bizhub PRO 950 has a 95 page per minute print speed for monochrome output. It has been designed with a range of high productivity features to maximise print job throughput, while requiring minimal technical expertise for easy operation.
Key to the bizhub PRO 950’s fast throughput is the Linux OS based controller that permits continuous production and lower job completion times for increased turnover. Thanks to its tremendously improved RIP speed, the bizhub PRO 950 sails through complex jobs, while JDF/JMF compliance ensures easy integration into a working environment.
Although the bizhub PRO 950 can easily handle monthly volumes of between 60,000 and 200,000 pages (with peak volumes of up 750,000 pages), it has a relatively small footprint so it can be used in confined print rooms, offices and copy shops.
For outstanding print results the bizhub PRO 950 benefits from Konica Minolta’s innovative Tone Curve Utility allowing the operator to change controller adjustments such as screening and tone curves. The screening angle and dot shape can be adjusted to individual job requirements and every profile once created can be stored on the controller for later use.
State-of-the-art smoothing technology also ensures outstanding print resolution of up to 2,400 by 600 dpi. In addition, the innovative Supercell technology allows the reproduction of full 256 grey scales with each screening type and frequency (lpi), providing improved reproduction of text, photos, images, illustrations and other graphic elements in prints.
The bizhub PRO 950 also uses Konica Minolta’s proprietary Simitri polymerised toner to give outstanding print quality and resolution. Polymerised toner particles are finer and more uniform in shape than conventional pulverised toner. This produces images that are sharper with more definition on text reproduction and finer dot gradations for halftones.
Basic configuration paper capacity is 2,150 sheets with a maximum capacity of 6,650 sheets for paperweights ranging from 40 to 300gsm. Functions such as mixplex and mixmedia allow operators to switch between different paper types and single or double-sided printing, page by page. A programmable paper catalogue automatically adjusts paper types and paper trays for print jobs. The operator simply requests the desired media type from the bizhub’s PRO 950 paper catalogue and the rest is handled automatically.
The bizhub PRO 950 is available in various configurations with finishing options for six-way folding (half fold, gate fold, tri fold, Z fold, letter and double parallel folds), booklet making, post inserting and punching.
For Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Pauline Brooks, Group Product Manager Production Print said, “We have designed the bizhub PRO 950 to minimise standstills and maximise overall productivity, offering utmost versatility for the production of print jobs, simply and easily. Its impressive media flexibility in particular results from the combination of intelligent paper catalogue and mixplex/mixmedia functionality. The bizhub PRO 950 is the affordable choice for high end office users or company CRD facilities that are looking for high quality in black-and-white document production with fast throughput and easy operation.”
