Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe has again been placed in the leaders’ quadrant of the...

Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe has again been placed in the leaders’ quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for MFPs and Printers Worldwide,* according to Gartner, Inc. This was achieved through improved sales activities, service capabilities and a clear focus on its smarter
strategy. Meaning it is now able to provide enhanced print solutions and IT services.

“To arrive in the ‘leaders’ quadrant for the second time in a row is great news for us. It affirms that we are on the right way with our business and product strategy”, comments Ken Osuga, President of Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe. “Furthermore it shows that we have successfully fulfilled the transformation to a comprehensive solutions provider in the B2B sector with
technologies, solutions, and support. We are sure to stand our ground as a global leader in the highly competitive MFP and printer marketplace even in the future.”

Gartner's Magic Quadrant for vendors of multifunction products and printers (MFPs) worldwide serves as a guide for midsize and large organisations to identify and evaluate technology providers that deliver MFP and printer products and services.

Gartner customers are increasingly seeking providers who can match their global presence and become partners in helping them with their printing and document management needs. In the past several years, the role and capabilities of the traditional MFPs have advanced and have become a more integral part of an organisation´s IT environment. This changes some of the old purchasing criteria. For this purpose, providers of
and printer products that are capable of serving needs in the office and in onsite production space are the focus of this year’s Magic Quadrant. For this, MPS providers must be able to address major trends in the print and document management industry, such as A3 MFPs, account management and service resolution issues, fleet management, monitoring and integration, security, cloud printing, and environmental impact.

Konica Minolta’s achievements have also been awarded a number of prizes. Earlier this year, Buyers Laboratory Inc. (BLI) honoured Konica Minolta with three
: The new 9-inch touch pad, which is integrated into the whole new Colour MFP line up, received an award for Outstanding Achievement in Control Panel Design. Furthermore because of their impressive overall performance, including excellent reliability and some of the fastest tested copy, print, and scan speeds among competitors in their market sectors, the Konica Minolta bizhub C654 and bizhub C754 have earned Summer 2012 ‘Pick’ awards for Outstanding A3 Colour MFP in their respective speed ranges. In addition to the honours bestowed on the bizhub MFP devices, the Konica Minolta Unity Document Suite 7 earned a Summer 2012 ‘Pick’ award for Outstanding Desktop Document Imaging Suite.

*Gartner, Inc.
Konica Minolta have partnered with Pearson in Practice, the UK’s leading provider of Apprenticeship training, to launch a new Advanced Apprenticeship in Print and Document Solutions.

As technology in the print industry continues to evolve at a rapid pace, so does the service level expected from customers. No longer are they looking simply for printers and supplies, but expect an integrated, high quality, efficient and affordable business solution.

As an industry leader in Managed Print Services, Konica Minolta, along with other print manufacturers and suppliers, identified a gap in their future workforces and approached Pearson in Practice to find a solution. Designed by the industry, for the industry, the new Apprenticeship will help to develop a young, enthusiastic, qualified and motivated workforce that will be able to deliver the service customers need today, and in the future.

The programme includes a mix of on and off the job training and runs for at least 12 months, with employers able to shape and develop the apprentice into the employee they need. With Government funding to cover the training, and grants available to small businesses taking on apprentices, it is a sure-fire way to develop better skills and a stronger team.

Merri Applegate, Director of HR stated “We are proud to be working with Pearson. We have already taken on a number of apprentice’s and we are looking forward to seeing them develop both their technical and customer service over the coming months through the training that they will receive.”

Pearson in Practice CEO Fiona McBride said: “Print is yet another industry that has realised that Apprenticeships can make a real difference to their future. We’ve worked with the key sector players to offer an Apprenticeship that is shaped to deliver what they need and are looking forward to making a big impact with the future talent of the print industry.”

About Pearson

• Pearson in Practice: Pearson in Practice’s Apprenticeships are replacing costly, inefficient, conventional recruitment with fresh thinking and fresh talent. High quality, high impact young people, who hit the ground running and build skills and momentum on the job. Supported by world class training to grow a better workforce for the long term.
